FACTS ABOUT SWA

SWA membership is currently comprised of 132 different companies – both warehouses and associate members combined.

SWA members operate over 64 million square feet of quality warehouse space in our southeastern United States.

Our largest member manages over 8 million square feet of space in several states; our smallest 20,000 square feet in one city. Excluding the high and low numbers, the typical member manages between 300 to 400,000 square feet of space.

SWA members distribute a variety of products including: grocery and beverages, pharmaceuticals, appliances, building materials, textiles, and chemicals including HAZMAT, paper products, and consumer retail goods.

SWA members supply many value added services like transportation management, import/export assistance, packaging, light assembly, returned goods handling, mixing & blending, quality inspection and control.

SWA associate members provide services and/or products in support of the warehousing industry like facilities construction and repair, dock door systems, roofing systems, security systems, software systems, insurance, legal counsel, materials handling equipment, telecommunications systems.

SWA’s Board of Directors, consisting of 20 members, meet’s regularly at its own expense to respond to the needs of the association.

Incorporated in 1951 in the State of Georgia, its current headquarters office is located in Madison, GA.
